The latest twist in the tale of the final stages of the 2019 National League [NL] Speedway season is the tail of Storm Lorenzo - hitting the east of England this weekend and leading to the cancellation of Sunday's planned re-staging at Scunthorpe of the individual event for the division's top riders, the NL Riders' Championship.
The big show-piece event has been re-arranged for Sunday 20th October - at the Lincolnshire home of Scunthorpe Speedway in Normanby with a 5pm start time..
Meanwhile, getting in before the storm hit, the other NL Play Off semi-final has been decided in the East Midlands, with Leicester Lion Cubs wiping out Cradley Heathens 64-26 for a record aggregate victory at this stage of the title-deciding play offs of 117-64. Leicester now are confirmed as the team awaiting Kent should the TouchTec Kings get past Belle Vue in the second leg of their semi-final at Central Park on Monday 7th. October.
