Summer is finally here and so is pay on the gate with the previous requirement to have to pre-book seats now over, so all roads lead to Central Park Stadium for an evening of sizzling Speedway this Tuesday, 20th. July.
And the opponents couldn’t really be better for such an evening of Summer of Speedway racing, as it’s local rivals Eastbourne Eagles in a Championship Knock-out Cup First Round Second leg tie.
The TouchTec Kings are using a ‘Guest’ rider to cover for the missing Cameron Heeps (the Aussie having further recuperation and recovery time following that troublesome shoulder injury) and this is the experienced Kyle Howarth. Kyle was the British Under 21 champion in 2015 and has ridden for some of the top sides in the country including Poole Pirates , Swindon Robins and this season for Leicester Lions. For the 27 year old from Manchester it’s a very quick reunion with Eastbourne as he was part of the Leicester side that won at Arlington on Sunday.
The visitors will be at full strength and that means Central Park debuts for the likes of their number one, former Lakeside Hammer Richard Lawson and their GB international Edward Kennett. The top three from this year’s GB U21 championship will all be in action on Tuesday: for the visitors new champion Tom Brennan and runner up, former Kings’ man Drew Kemp and the TouchTec Kings’ own Dan Gilkes who finished third in the event up at Redcar last Friday.
Gates open at 5pm tomorrow with the action getting underway at 6.30pm.
