Following last night's accident here's a photo we'll all be happy and relieved to see - Danno Verge & Adam Extance smiling for the camera receiving excellent hospital treatment.
Both riders have been confirmed as having no broken bones in the back. Danno will be out for nine days after suffering concussion (being knocked out cold in the crash) and Adam who received the most lengthy of trackside treatment and for whom the greater concern was for has a fractured shoulder, a number of broken ribs and a bruised lung but otherwise not the more serious injuries at one time feared.
Both of these very brave Speedway riders send their heartfelt thanks and praise to all the medics from the track and the county ambulance for their excellent treatment.
Len Silver, Kent co-promoter shared everyone's relief, "After the horrific crash last night when both Danno Verge and Adam Extance collided, with three ambulances and a separate doctor attending for over an hour, I left the stadium fearful of the damage to the riders. A serious back injury had been feared.....so, when I arrived home from early morning track work today (Tuesday), my first call was to Barry Bishop of the Isle of Wight and he was able to give me the excellent news that Adam had not broken his back although he, like Danno, had suffered some very uncomfortable injuries, but none life-changing. A considerable relief."
